A Quiet Place is a horror movie written, directed by and starring John Krasinski. It also has Emily Blunt and a few child actors. They all did well. You may have seen Signs, Extinction, The New Daughter, It Comes At Night. It's post apocalyptic America. Not many humans are left. These monsters roam the streets and are attracted by loud sounds. That's why our characters must remain quiet. Minimal dialogue. Using sign language and subtitles are shown. Some words blend into the background. Nice special effects. It has a good soundtrack. I knew something would happen with that toy. A good film that I recommend.

 You Were Never Really Here is a thriller starring Joaquin Phoenix. It is a strange film. Some dialogue I couldn't make out so I recommend subtitles. You have this mercenary in New York. A hired hitman in a way. He is sent to rescue a teenage girl from a sex ring. He uses violence when necessary. Things don't go to plan. Amazon Studio/Film Four 2018. You may have seen Leon, The Equalizer. Based on a novel. Directed by Lynn Ramsey. There are flashbacks to the protagonist's childhood. He has other thoughts which the audience get to see. So I was left wondering 'what did I just watch?' Plenty of violence. Joe is his name. He lives with his elderly mother. There is a bonus feature. I try to understand the asphyxiation thing. You might make more sense out of the novel.

Amanda is a sociapath, an outsider, confident, speaks her mind. Lily is upper class, not so confident, awkward. They look good. You may have seen Horrible Bosses, Ingrid Goes West, Very Bad Things, Single White Female, Stoker, Cruel Intentions, Wild Things, Irrational Man, Suburbicon, Heathers, Fight Club. It is slow paced. At the time of writing this film has a two star rating on Amazon. Which is surprising. It is up to you on whether you watch it. Some interesting characters especially Mallory. With the look of it is similar to a western, Terminator Salvation, The Walking Dead, Mad Max, Interstellar, The Day, The Book Of Eli, Logan, Stakeland. Our bounty hunter played by Gina Carano is on horseback dragging a coffin on a rope. You may have seen her in Haywire, Deadpool. Water and air are scarce. John Hannah plays Doc. He is a mentor to Attica Gage. Be interesting to see what the reviews are like. Silver is something that helps with air purification. Must look at the science behind that. That shootout with Chavo/Javo. Gage does get to her gun slowly. When she has to roll towards it. She could have been shot. There are storms. I think the cars are referred to as Burners. But saw a scene where storm clouds were approaching and they were shooting fire. I could be mistaken. The lady miming the country song is a little off. She is hot as is Gina. Gage is lying in bed being tended to buy the Doc and you can see her nipples poking through the top.

There is the villain by the name of Elijah Jackson. You may like Divergent, Hunger Games, War For The Planet Of The Apes, Maze Runner, Resident Evil, Dawn Of The Dead. Many more films are available.  Pacific Rim Uprising There is the odd slice of cheese. Well it is an American action movie. Stars John Boyega amongst some old and new faces. 10 years after the film. The son of Idris Elba's character is up to no good. People go scavenging for the technology used in the war. You have a teenage girl building her own Jaeger. Many cadets are still being trained. Parts of the world is still in ruins. A Chinese company is building drones. You might like Power Rangers, Transformers, Colossal, Pacific Rim, Godzilla, King Kong. There is a bigger threat regarding the Kaiju. They have thrown in new ideas. Cert 12. There are the Precursors that sent the monsters in the first place. I will look at who Sarah is or was. You might like the soundtrack. Plenty of special features. I try and keep track of who is controlling which machine. It probably has had mixed reviews. Good special effects. Universal Pictures 2018.

 A WRINKLE IN TIME A SciFi fantasy from Disney based on the best selling novel. Storm Reid, Chris Pine, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Zach Galifinakis, Michael Pena amongst other great actors. Meg's father, a NASA scientist has been missing for 4 years. She is having problems at school. Her adopted brother Charles is great. Great cast especially the youngsters. A whole bunch of characters will be entering Megan's life and taking her on a journey. PG. The new series of Doctor Who is on this year. You might like the soundtrack. You may have seen Life Of Pi, The Lovely Bones, Tomorrowland, The Dark Tower, Jumanji, Zathura, The Matrix, Doctor Who. Reece aka Mrs Whatsit looks good. Mrs. Who and Mrs Which are introduced. The group go travelling through space. Spectacular special effects. They are on a mission to find her father. Expect humorous dialogue. Especially from Mindy. All about female empowerment.
