The plantation owner (Michael Fassbender) has purchased Soloman. There is a chance meeting with a Canadian abolitionist (Brad Pitt). A steller cast: Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti, Lupita Nyong'o. Music by Hans Zimmer. I'm liking the theme song. Special Feature a are a doc looking at the creative team behind the film and also watch Han Zimmer as he composes the soundtrack. There was a mild sex scene. Shot from a sideways position. The book is for sale. Solomon a violinist is offered a job in Washington. There are flashback scenes. Transported to Georgia. Strong language and violence. Solomon's message is delivered to future generations. I wonder what he'd make of President Obama.
Twelve Years A Slave by Solomon Northup. I'd seen the film and so decided on the book. This is a true story. Solomon's memoirs will leave a message to future generations. Obviously it goes into more detail than the film. I recommend you check out both. A young violinist is under false pretences taken to Washington DC to perform at a circus. But he had been kidnapped and sold into slavery down south. I'm selling this on Amazon/Ebay in a few months. Kept in mint condition. First published in 1853.
