Written and directed by Shane Black who starred in the first film. This is essentially a reboot paying tribute to previous films. It opens up with two Predator ships in a cat and mouse chase. The first ship managed to escape and is transported to Earth. It crashes in the states. Meanwhile a soldier named McKenny (Boyd Holbrook) is on a mission. He'd got his hands on the alien tech and had it posted home. The army are after him and the Predator. The creatures are more brutal. The violence is graphic. You actually get to see them use their teeth. An actor that played a scientist is Jake Busey. His father was in Predator 2. Olivia Munn is hot as is Yvonne Strahovski. The young son with Autism is played by Jacob Tremblay. A great young actor. He accidentally sets off a beacon within the armour which leads to the second ship coming to Earth. There is plenty of humour in this film. I enjoyed it. I ignored the reviews. Keegan Michael Key plays the comedic guy Coyle. Similar to Rick Hawkins. There are a mixed bunch of characters. There has been controversy over casting of a sex offender. Stirling K Brown plays Traeger. He is like Carl Weathers character. Has an annoying laugh. Sometimes the Predators don't need to kill as the humans do a good job of it themselves. I don't know if there will be a sequel. You do have another type of Predator like in the third film. The film reveals more of the back story of the creatures. Why they visit various planets. I recommend that you go see it. It isn't dark like Alien Vs Predator Requiem. I watched this at Cineworld. Seat G11. I suggest you sit in that area for the best view. It was quite empty in the theatre. Some girl was talking. I helped a guy out when he wanted to book tickets. Also on my way to the cinema. An Eastern European man wanted to get back to Leicester. He had worked a shift in Loughborough and so I directed him to the bus stop. It had been expensive for him. A long journey too. That's the thing with agencies. Full cast.

Lucy Hale. An attractive cast. Nice opening scene. A group of friends are on a Spring Break vacation in Mexico. They meet a stranger named Carter. A curse is loose. The participants must play a game of truth or dare in order to stay alive. Creepy supernatural horror. Weird smiles on people. Hallucinations. A demon possibly seen in Insidious or Sinister. Looks familiar. See the discussion afterwards. Olivia is the protagonist. Great effects and acting. Lucas, Penelope, Raymond, Markie, Brad amongst others. Some idiots were commenting about the ending on the trailer. Which kind of spoils it. Interesting music.

Fences At the start I couldn't understand the dialogue. Set in 1950s Pittsburgh. Interesting filming location. Denzel Washington and Viola Davis play a couple. Troy works as a dustman. His wife Rose is at home. His colleague and neighbour Bono is a good friend. The eldest son Lyons visits asking to borrow money. Casual conversation between the characters. Based on the stage play. Won awards. Apartied exists. The younger son Cory is studying at college and playing football. Gabe is a man, staying at someone's house. suffering from mental health problems. PTSD. He is Troy's brother. Great cast of actors. Drama directed by Mr. Washington. Cory and Troy work together on putting up a fence. Special features included. Cert 12. There are the various characters that Denzel played. Politically his views differ. Black Lives Matter. You might like Hidden Figures, Malcolm X, Selma, Detroit, Life, The Butler, Birth Of A Nation, 12 Years A Slave. Some good points raised in the dialogue. Troy has the best lines. Stephen McKinley Henderson, Jovan Adepo, Russell Hornsby, Mykelti Williamson. Slow paced story about life, love and family. Paramount Pictures 2016.

Ghost Stories is a British horror based on the award winning stage play. You may have seen The Woman In Black, Paranormal Activity, Winchester, The Enfield Haunting, The Passenger, Ashes To Ashes. Nice main theme. A film by Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson. Funny opening scene where you have the clairvoyant on stage. It is like a docudrama. The protagonist investigates the paranormal. There to debunk theories. Andy Nyman plays Prof Philip Goodman. Paul Whitehouse, Martin Freeman, Alex Lawther also star. Cert 15. Three cases are investigated. Great actors. Tony is a night watchman. Interesting if a little xenophobic. Played by Mr. Whitehouse. Good special effects. It is quite dark at Tony's workplace. I guess they did it to set the mood. Simon is part of Case 2. He is a teenage lad living at home. I see a nod to The Evil Dead. Not keen on the night time scenes as there isn't much to see. Mike is a farmer played by M Freeman. Shock, scares and a twist. I may look at trivia and discussions about the film. I always wonder how these plays work. It is a clever film.

Wildling. Horror movie. The actress playing a youngest version of Anna is cute. She is kept locked in a room. Her das is played by Brad Dourif. Most famous for the Childsplay films. Liv Tyler plays Ellen a police officer. An older Anna is played by Bel Powley. Great cast of actors. Cert 15. A coming of age film and the protagonist is an outsider. A Quiet Place is a horror movie written, directed by and starring John Krasinski. It also has Emily Blunt and a few child actors. They all did well. You may have seen Signs, Extinction, The New Daughter, It Comes At Night. It's post apocalyptic America. Not many humans are left. These monsters roam the streets and are attracted by loud sounds. That's why our characters must remain quiet. Minimal dialogue. Using sign language and subtitles are shown. Some words blend into the background. Nice special effects. It has a good soundtrack. I knew something would happen with that toy. A good film that I recommend.
