This is I assume a standalone film. Stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. Michelle Williams as Annie. Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake. Great acting from all the cast. Needed more violence or to be graphic. It is a Marvel film but produced by Sony and Paramount. The symbiotes were being brought to Earth on board Drake's ship. He had major plans for them. Wants to see the evolution of the human race. Experiments were being done at the labs. Meanwhile Eddie is a journalist. Has a news blog I did liken it to Tommy Robinson but that is probably going far as Tommy isn't a journalist. He is sent to interview Drake. Most scenes you'll have seen in the trailers. Things don't go according to plan. His life has changed six months later. With Venom attaching itself to Eddie. The agents at the lab want the property back. Great effects. I wanted to see the creatures in action. There is humour too. There is a mid credits scene. Check out the soundtrack. It is interesting to see the effects on the host and what the parasite does. Must not forget the scientist in charge that contacts Eddie. Annie looked good in the symbiotic form.

A horror drama starring Toni Collette, Gabriel Byrne. The daughter Charlie has some sort of disfigurement. Acts rather oddly. Mental health problems run in the family. The grandmother had died and the story follows on a week later. The actor playing the son Peter was in Jumanji 2. There is a workshop in the house. They make doll houses and figurines. There are clues and foreshadowing in the film. The girl that Peter likes isn't very likeable. I might mention Mother's Day, The Purge, Winchester, Sinister, Insidious, Thoroughbreds, In Darkness, We Are What We Are, The Woman, A Quiet Place, Paranormal Activity series, The Sixth Sense, Ouija, Signs, It Comes At Night, Lights Out, The New Daughter, The Last Exorcism, From Within. Features some graphic and shocking scenes. One scene in particular I was surprised at what happens and how the family would deal with it. Check out the soundtrack. It's about love and loss. Quite morbid. A great cast of actors. Moves at a slow pace. Great effects. Creepy film. Look at the trivia and discussion afterwards. Alex Wollf, Milly Shapiro.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away. We know how Han Solo's story ends well this is how it begins. Han is in his early 20s. On his home planet. Working for criminal gangs. It is like the slums. He has a girlfriend named Kira played by Emilia Clarke. This is a prequel with plenty of action and comedy. It makes nods to the original films. Alden Ehrenreich does a wonderful job as Han. Donald Glover as Lando. Woody Harrelson plays Tobias. He is a thief and owe's money to Paul Bettany's character. Brilliantly plays the villain. Thandie Newton as his partner in crime. Warwick Davis is in this too. Phoebe Waller-Bridge provides some of the humour as a droid. This is an origin story. How he comes to meet Chewbacca is interesting. The actor that plays him Joonas Suotamo. I copied some of the cast list from Google/IMDB. Stunning visual effects. There is what could be a wormhole and a black hole in one scene. You may have watched Firefly and a few westerns amongst them crime dramas. Directed by Ron Howard. I like the main theme. Some original songs from previous films were used. I will look at trivia and audience reactions. Something that sent snowflakes off was Lando being bisexual. So what? I found the train running on a suspended bridge cool with it having carriages underneath too. The team had to smuggled some weapons for the boss in order to pay off a debt. There are twists. Cert 12. I wasn't sure if I was going to watch this. I have watched every other film in the series. I will watch Episode 9 when it is out. Worth checking out.
