I watched Army Of The Dead on Netflix. It is a horror movie by Zack Snyder. The plague has hit Las Vegas. There is a group of mercenaries/volunteers recruited by a Japanese businessman. He wants them to get the money that has been locked in the safe in a casino. Interesting special effects. Someone on Twitter was discussing a possible theory about one plot point and not everyone has seen the film. Great acting from all actors from main to extras. The soundtrack is a mixture. I did think that some characters were wasting time and bullets. You will see what I mean. Interesting concept as to how the zombies think and communicate. I will look at discussions and theories. Kate's eyes are unique. There some really good horror flicks such as Cargo, Outpost, Shaun Of The Dead, Rec etc. Dave Bautista stars. I envisioned how it might go for a few of the characters. The animals are fascinating. Nice tits on the Showgirls. Rich Cetrone and Athena Perample play the Alpha King and Queen. Athena is hot.

Watch this
I saw the trailers for The Theory Of Everything and Seventh Son. I will watch those two upon DVD release. It'd be hard not to fall in love with Felicity Jones. Seventh Son is like LOTR, Clash Of The Titans. It's a fantasy film. I am watching Dracula Untold. Well trying to and her downstairs is rambling to herself. I keep getting Wi-Fi updates. 2014 Universal Pictures 5053083022839. Cert 15 action adventure retelling of the Count Dracula story. Stars Luke Evans, Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper (was in Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter), Charles Dance. Vlad is portrayed as a good man, noble prince. A vampire exists before he became one. Listening to the accents. They are at war with the Turks. Good special effects. An epic battle scene. Dramatic soundtrack. Worth checking out. See the Amazon reviews.
I am watching MALCOLM X directed by Spike Lee and stars Denzel Washington. It's a biography drama. Filmed in 1992. Interesting cinematography, costumes and great acting from the cast. You might have seen 12 Years A Slave. Selma is out in cinemas now. Another good film is The Butler. See Spike's other film Bamboozled. Richard Attenborough's Ghandi is an epic film. I recommend a book called I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou. Also read Long Walk To Freedom by Nelson Mandela. Spike Lee also stars in the film.
I had also rented Boyhood which was 12 years in the making. The same cast ageing over time. Focuses on the young lad. Ethan Hawks plays his father. Patricia Arquette has a cracking rack. The little sister is annoying. Imagine what the cast will be feeling when they watch the film back. A variety of songs reflecting the time period. The kids add the comedy. Hawke's character seems annoying in the first few minutes. He was a child actor, see Explorers. Some adlibbing in the scenes like Outnumbered. The kids did get to have fun whilst filming. Interesting seeing the changes in the appearance of the cast especially the females. Pays homage to different things. Some hot women in later scenes. Ellar Coltrane and Lorelei Linklater have done other films. See the Amazon and Cduniverse search boxes. Mason reminds me of Taylor Lautner. 2 hr 39 m run time. 2014 Universal.
TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION
Paramount 2014, 5014437195142 cert 12. Directed by Michael Bay. Sci-fi film based on the Hasbro toys. This is the fourth instalment. Stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammar and others.

With the opening scene you see an armada of ships heading towards the Earth. It's in the prehistoric era. In the modern day a discovery is made in the Arctic. Over in Texas is where Cade Yeager lives. His daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz) is pretty, has a nice body. After Chicago the Autobots are no longer needed. The city is a wreck. There are a few hot girls in this. The trailer was good. This film is set five years after the last one. Visually impressive. There is an alien called Lockdown looking for Optimus Prime. Humans are hunting the Autobots and Decepticons. Take a look at the customer reviews. Some cheesy moments. There is a company called KSI in Chicago. The MD is Mr. Joyce. They have plans for the future. There are no bonus features. Galvatron and the Dinobots also feature. John Goodman voices one of the Autobots. Worth checking out. You might also like Pacific Rim, Robotropolis.
EARTH TO ECHO
There are some interesting trailers before the main feature. One being The 100 Foot Journey. Tarzan might do well. This film has been labelled as ET for a new generation. It's a PG cert sci-fi. 2014 RML. 5055744700568. You might also like The Last Mimzy, Super 8, Chronicle, Explorers, Batteries Not Included, E.T The Extra Terrestrial. Extras: making of and deleted scenes. Three friends Tuck, Munch and Alex are filming a little video. Uploading to YouTube. A new freeway is being built. Houses are demolished. Families are moving away. Tuck is a young black kid. He narrates and films using his camera. All three are thirteen. Munch is blonde haired. Seen as an outsider. He is moving away. There is Alex the foster kid that is also leaving. He has brown hair. Their adventure began a year ago. Full cast list here.

It was their last week together. The phones are playing up. The town is in Nevada. The soundtrack is good. Nice use of the internet and mobile tech. As would happen with youngsters today. I'll take a look at the reviews. There is a piece of music that plays with a certain I ident. From Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves. Nice little line from Alex in the canteen. Emma is a blonde girl that they like. Shot in found footage/POV style. The boys go on a trip to locate the source of the signal. A small alien, quite like an owl. It needs the boys' help to return home. Out to rent/buy now. I have a few DVDs and books for sale on Amazon. See the seller Solitarymaninblack. A good cast and impressive special effects. I hope you get a chance to see this.
So many films to look forward to next year http://www.movieinsider.com/movies/-/2015/
There where some good trailers for family comedy from the makers of Outnumbered called What We Did On Our Holiday. Another was a spoof romcom with most of the cast from SNL called They Came Together. Also the new Hunger Games film is out in cinemas now.
I'm watching Chef. It was written, directed by and starring Jon Favreau. He plays Carl Casper a chef at a fancy LA restaurant owned by manager Dustin Hoffman. His ex-wife Inez is played by the lovely Sofia Vergara. John Leguizamo plays his friend Martin. Son is Emjay Anthony, other cast members include Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Oliver Platt, Bobby Cannavale, Amy Sedaris. Cert 15, 2014, 5055761903348. I've worked in hospitality and catering for a while now. See my other posts. I've met various chefs.
The film has a mixed soundtrack it seems. Some latino, reggae, hip hop, jazz tracks. The opening scene is of Carl preparing some food. Jon Favreau perhaps enjoyed cooking. Would have picked up some tips from celebrity chefs. There is a food critic that's coming to the restaurant. His friend has just delivered the pig. Tony is a fellow chef suffering from a hangover. He picks up his son Percy. They were to go to the cinema but pop needs to pick up ingredients. Some of you may have watched Master chef, Come Dine With Me, Kitchen Nightmares, Man Vs Food, Michell Roux's Service. Riva the manager is controlling and gets into an argument with Carl. Molly is the front of house staff, a sommelier/bartender. Idmb for full cast. A good scene when Carl is reading the online blog regarding their restaurant. Some additional characters and extras are featured. Twitter gets a mention. Social networking was mentioned in an interview on Sunday Brunch. I wound up in trouble because of it. Carl signs up. Various tweets are talking about that review. Carl has a scathing response to all the criticism. A mistake some new users make. People lose jobs, wind up in jail by posting things online. Plenty of stupid arguments in the YouTube comments section. A character named Ramsey Michell, he's the food blogger. He eventually quits the job and runs a food truck. The restaurant is overbooked. This becomes a road trip film. A great cast of actors. Sofia looks stunning and sounds sexy. Downey Jr is businessman Marvin. No bonus features. I recommend this film.
Other Jon Favreau films are The Big Empty, Made, Iron Man, Swingers, Avengers Assemble. See his appearance in the TV show Friends.
See the trailer.
A film based on the graphic novel All You Need Is Kill. I recommend Triangle, Repeaters, 12:01, Groundhog Day, About Time. Warner Bros 2014. Cert 12. Sci fi. 5051892163507. Stars Tom Cruise as Major William Cage, a man sent into a war. He is forced to relive the same day repeatedly. Emily Blunt is Rita Vrataski, a warrior that trains with him. An alien race had attacked Earth. Some bonus features are included. Oblivion was good. Also see Looper. The soldiers are equipt with special suits. See Elysium. Opening footage is of news reports. Brian Gleeson is a General in the army. He is met in London by Cage. The Major is sent to France as the aliens named 'Mimics' have invaded much of Europe. The United Defence Force are going to war. William is reluctant to go. Bill Paxton plays a Sergeant. Cage is not much of a soldier yet has the rank of Major. Impressive effects. The laser beams gun shots flow in a weird way. The alien design is unique. There is a good cast. It's amusing at times. Different ways to die. The training sequence is good. Clever editing. Take after take. Soundtrack is ok. I think you'll like this.
Starring Will Ferrell and Zalifianakis play Cam Brady and Marty Higgins. Two opposing political candidates. They're aiming for the North Carolina congressional seat. Cert 15, 2012 Warner Bros, 5051892143325. There is a sketch where Ferrell impersonates George W Bush. I recommend The Ides Of March, Everything Must Go, It's Kind Of A Funny Story, Due Date. This is a comedy. Shana (Kate Miner) is the groupie that's quite nice. Can sends her a dirty message but it gets sent to the wrong phone number. Jason Sudeikis is the advisor. He was also in Bad Bosses, We're The Millers, Drinking Buddies. Other cast members are Katherine Lanasa, Dylan McDermott, John Lithgow, Dan Akroyd, Brian Cox, Josh Lawson, Thomas Middleditch, Sarah Baker. You might have seen The Thick Of It, Have I Got News For You for satire. Akroyd and Lithgow play brothers. They're intent on finding a candidate to go against Brady. Marty is a camp man. He has a wife and kids. The maid has to put on an accent. Cox is the father. Southern accents through out. Funny dialogue. A deal is being made with a business in China. Contains shit load of swearing. Cam's wife is nice. Crude humour. The cast are great. Nice confessions from the kids. The youngest one reminds me of Jonah Hill. There must be some outtakes. Marty's advisor Tim is confident, shady. His place and family are given a makeover. The hairdresser had nice tits. The story moves forward a few weeks. Becky (Amelia Jackson-Gray) is a pretty lady in a blue dress, she has a wardrobe malfunction. Nice boob. A shocking baby scene. The Motch brothers remind me of the old guys from Trading Places. This film takes the piss out of republicans and America in general. Nice cheerleaders. Bonus: extended/deleted scenes. It's available on Amazon. See the customer reviews.
Battle Los Angeles
Sci-fi action movie. You may also like Skyline, District 9, Monsters, Cloverfield, Super 8, Independance Day, War Of The Worlds, Attack The Block, Cowboys & Aliens, Aliens vs Predator: Requeim, Transformers. Ne-Yo (who i've met once) is in this film. Aaron Eckhart is the main star. This isn't a review just a blog. Aliens make an attack on LA. Us Military stand in their way.
The Adjustment Bureau
Bourne meets Inception. Interesting film. Matt Damon plays Senator David Norris meets Elise (Emily Blunt) the guys that had approached him like Agent Smith in The Matrix trilogy, are in control of what happens to people, possibly angels, time travellers. Checkout Source Code which also has time as a backstory. Also kind of similar to Minority Report. Nice effects. There is a love story alongside sci-fi here. Take a look at the trailer.
Insidious
From the makers of Saw and Paranormal Activity. You may also like Polterguist. The films and the tv series. The house is haunted. Some suprise moments. Do check it out. Paranormal Activity 3 will be out sometime. Eerie moments like you'd get with the Grudge trilogy. I'm watching it now. Will be adding bits. The Ghosthunters add a comedic element to the film. Barbera Hershey is in this film, she was once in The Entity, she looked fantastic naked and looks good now. Rose Byrne (Sunshine, 28 Weeks Later). Lynn Shay (2001 Manics). Another scary film is White Noise, also The Fourth Kind. The song that plays on the record player as Renai takes out the garbage is 'Nurole Bianche' by Ludvico Einaudi. Thanks for reading.
Source Code
If you have seen Groundhog Day, then I recommend this film! You should also see The Jacket, 12:01, The Time Traveller's Wife, Twelve Monkeys, Donnie Darko, The Time Machine, Southland Tales and S.Darko. Jake Gyllenhal does brilliantly. Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan are hot. I like Sci-fi films especially ones with a time travel element. Plenty of suspense, action, comedic moments.
Sucker Punch
An entertaining film not just about the action and special FX. Quite abit about the drama and a philosiphy of life. Switching from reality to fantasy and back through out the film. Emily Browning is great as are all the cast. Some nice twists and turns. Baby Doll is locked in an asylum and wishes to escape. If you like The Matrix, Advancement Bureau, Inception then you will love this. The soundtrack is great punk, metal, trip hop. Out to rent now.
Cert 12, 5051892163767 Warner Bros 2014. Cast: Aaron Taylor Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen, Juliette Binoche, Sally Hawkins, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston. I hope this film is better than the other one starring Mathew Broderick. You may have seen that amongst films like King Kong, Pacific Rim, Transformers, Power Rangers, Skyline, Battleships, Jurassic Park, Monsters, Troll Hunter, Cloverfield. The original Japanese film had been re-released. Jurassic World will be released next year. I have borrowed this from the library. The Amazon customer reviews will convince you on whether to buy this or not. Starts off in The Philippines in 1999. A scientist is travelling by helicopter to an excavation site. A fossil is discovered. Onto Janjira, Japan. I'd like to see cert 18 type films which feature creatures like this. An american family lives in Japan. They work for a company of sorts. There is a nuclear reactor on site. The engineer has been following the tremors. It's his birthday. You have a variety of characters that get to deal with this situation. Ford is the kid, now a grown man with a family in San Fransisco. Wife Elle and son Sam. Story follows on 15 years later. Ford has headed off to Tokyo to meet his father. Ford moved on from the disaster. His father Joe is a troubled man and wants to prove it was no accident. They head back to their old home in the quarantine zone to fetch some files. The government are up to something. It's hard to hear the dialogue when the characters are on the phone, behind glass or wearing helmets. It'll be interesting to see the discussions on Godzilla. There are emps being given off by the creatures. It's a strange looking beast. They feed off radiation. Good origin story. Monarch is a company working in secret. I don't like how the creatures are hidden by the dark. Not enough fighting between the monsters. Mutos are the other creatures. All around the world. Some what are the odds of people getting reunited. Good acting and special effects. Special features have two making of segments. A Whole New Level Of Destruction: behind the scenes. The effects created when it comes to disasters. Shooting on location. They wanted to keep it authentic. So many extras. Ancient Enemy: The M.U.T.O.s: Creating the creatures. Storyboard art, the thought process behind them. Sound effects. Directed by Gareth Edwards. You might want to check this out.
